On Monday January 30, 2012, ICMAD will host its latest seminar: Expand Your Business Internationally: The EU Market at the 2012 ISSE Long Beach show. The European Union (EU) presents many opportunities for companies who are looking to or are ready to expand internationally. However, brands must be prepared before entering the EU, according to ICMAD.

Seminar attendees will learn from well-known beauty manufacturers and business development consultants whose expertise has helped them become successful on a worldwide basis. The EU Market education session, which runs from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., will provide an overview on necessary steps to take initially, what pitfalls to avoid, and what legal protection your company will need to enter the EU. Harlan Kirschner, President of The Kirschner Group (and PBA Advisory Board Member) is moderator for the session. He will be joined by the following speakers:

Sharon Blinkoff – Counsel, Venable LLP: Blinkoff advises clients on a broad range of regulatory and intellectual property and business matters arising in the advertising, marketing, distribution and sale of consumer products. Her background also extends to products regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration including cosmetics, medical devices, drugs, and dietary supplements.

Gregg Emery
– President, Farouk Systems: With more than 20 years’ experience in the professional salon industry, Emery joined Farouk Systems in 2009 as the executive vice president of sales and promotions. During this time, he has helped build the company’s field sales and has consistently focused on driving customer value that has contributed to Farouk’s recognition as a leader in hair care products.

George Schaeffer – Founder & executive vice president, OPI Products: Schaeffer shares insights on the professional nail care company’s global success.

The cost of the event is $35 for ICMAD members and PBA members; and $45 non-members. Register at probeauty.org/isselb
